He also established the &#8216;Coloured Men&#8217;s Institute&#8217; in London&#8217;s Canning Town. \n\n&#8216;Hidden Heroes: Soldiers From The Empire&#8217; is a Heritage Lottery funded project by Eastside Community Heritage and Middlesex University.
